Bio
Rory Cloud is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and educator with decades of experience working with artists from a wide range of musical disciplines and stylistic backgrounds.
As a sideman, Rory has worked in a range of genres from folk to hip hop, jazz to reggae, and many cross-sections of Americana. He has performed thousands of shows around the US and abroad, and performed at notable festivals such as the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, FreshGrass, Sound Summit and more.
Rory's former band Quiles & Cloud, with singer-songwriter Maria Quiles and bassist Oscar Westesson, signed to Compass Records in 2016 for the release of their third album Shake Me Now. The Album was produced by Compass Records founder and Grammy winning artist Alison Brown at the label's studio in Nashville, TN, and included guest performances by 8-time IBMA Fiddler of the Year recipient Stuart Duncan on fiddle and lap steel.
In recent years, Rory has been working as a guitarist and arranger with longtime partner and musical collaborator Allyson Makuch in a project called Echoes & Artifacts, featuring Allyson as the principle songwriter and lead vocalist. In addition to his work as a performer and session musician, Rory has been a music educator for over 20 years, and has taught thousands of one-on-one guitar lessons with people of all ages.
